Astrid graduated with a degree in English (Creative Writing) from UP Diliman and is currently taking her MA in English Creative Writing. She is also the manager of the Kabataan News Network (KNN) Manila Bureau. She was a fellow in the 1st Barlaya Writing for Children Workshop and the 43rd UP National Writers' Workshop.  She has received recognition from the PBBY and Palanca for her works for children. Astrid was president of the Kuwentista ng mga Tsikiting (KUTING) from 2004-2006.  A well-loved member of the literary community, Astid passed away in 2009.
