Barlaya Writing/Illustrating for Children Workshop
Held annually to provide basic training and knowledge on the craft of writing/illustrating for children, Barlaya selects fellows based on the literary and/or artistic merits of their submitted sample works. Barlaya is facilitated by acknowledged child psychologists, experienced children’s book writers/illustrators, and the Adarna House Product Development Group. Barlaya workshops have been possible with the help of partners such as the UP Institute of Creative Writing, Filipinas Heritage Library, College of St. Benilde, and Meralco Management and Leadership Development Center among others.
Kagawaran ng Filipino, Ateneo de Manila University
Ateneo de Manila University’s Kagawaran ng Filipino hosted Adarna House’s very first Kumperensiya sa Pagtuturo sa Filipino. Held in Leong Hall in the ADMU campus, the conference was attended by more than a hundred teachers of Filipino from different academic levels.
Ortigas Foundation Library
The Ortigas Foundation Library has hosted many of Adarna House’s workshops and seminars under its roof. It is through this partnership with the Library that Klasrum Adarna for NGOs — a free annual seminar for private charitable organizations — continues to give clients and partners new and engaging ideas for sustainable social action.
