Jo has been illustrating picture books since graduating from the University of the Philippines, College of Fine Arts more than a decade ago.  She claims that she is still able to see frogs, pigs, and cows in the tile patterns on the bathroom floor of ther lola's house.

She loves to swim and is a vegetarian — which means she no longer eats shrimps nor goby fish.
