Chevron Geothermal Philippines Holdings, Inc. (CGPHI)

Chevron and Adarna House worked together to provide the day care workers of Tiwi, Albay a series of training sessions about teaching beginning reading and storytelling.  Through the initiative of the Community Building and Education Reform Partners (SBERP) and the Municipality of Tiwi, the teachers attended workshops and received materials that help improve early childhood education in the community.

Department of Education (DepEd) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)

These two government agencies are major partners of Adarna House in making Filipino children’s books more accessible to public school students, teachers, and day care workers.  DepEd’s Library Hubs all over the country include award-winning books from Adarna House.  DSWD was also a partner in the development of Ang Buhay ni Bimboy, a book that guides parents and day care workers in nurturing children from birth until age six.

    Filipinas Heritage Library (FHL)

As one of the main proponents of the Teens Read, Too! campaign, the Filipinas Heritage Library has hosted many of the campaign’s activities under its roof.  It is through Adarna House’s partnership with the library that the Pilar Perez novellas for young adults were created.  FHL also hosts the summer book-making workshop for kids.

    MMLDC Foundation, Inc.

The Meralco Management and Leadership Development Center Foundation works closely with Adarna House in one of its environmental projects for Antipolo dubbed Lakbay Kalikasan.  The program, initially made for public schools in Antipolo, aims to share books with public school students and promote environmental awareness through storytelling, puppet shows, and nature trips.

    Miriam College

Adarna House has partnered with Lingap Bulilit, Miriam College’s educational outreach for the poor children in barangay day care centers.  To prepare these kids for the “big school,” Lingap Bulilit trains community-based teachers and volunteers.  Adarna House comes in by giving a counterpart to book donations for Lingap Bulilit beneficiaries.

Reading Association of the Philippines (RAP)

The Reading Association of the Philippines came on board Adarna House’s Libro Mo, Libro Ko program to help identify beneficiaries for the program.  For every pledge of donation to these beneficiaries, RAP offers free teacher-training and Adarna House comes in with additional book donations.

    Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC)

Adarna House, in partnership with RMHC and DepEd-NCR, came up with Bright Minds Read! (BMR), a project aimed at providing public school teachers with manuals and seminars on how to teach beginning reading.  Adarna House also developed a big book for RMHC entitled Bakawan.

Philippine Board on Books for Young People (PBBY)

Adarna House serves the Philippine Board on Books for Young People as its Secretariat.  With the logistical assistance of Adarna House, PBBY is able to organize its activities such as the National Children’s Book Day celebration, PBBY-Salanga Prize, PBBY-Alcala Prize, and the Salaysayan National Storytelling Competition.

United Nations International Children’s Fund (UNICEF)
