Getting Published

We are open to receiving your manuscripts and pitches for Picture Books, Graphic Novels, Middle-Grade Novels, Young Adult Novels, and any other genres published at Adarna House.

Do Note

  • We are a publishing house and do not provide self-publishing or printing-only services.
  • You must be 18 years of age and a Filipino citizen (of any residence).
  • We accept manuscript submissions in Filipino, English, and Filipino languages (with translation).
  • Replies to submissions may take any time from two (2) weeks to three (3) months.
  • Manuscripts may be submitted digitally or as printouts to our book shop in Quezon City.

Requirements

For all submissions, include a one-page literary resume (including writing background, publications, and relevant experience) or portfolio as PDF or online link (for illustrators). On the first page of your manuscript, indicate its genre (short fiction, biography, history, etc.) including any literary awards or contests it has won.

For Illustrations

We also accept applications for cover and picture book illustrations.

  • At least two (2) sample works (published or unpublished).

Track 02

For Chapter Books & Novels

We aim to fill a gap in reading materials for children aged 9 to 16.

  • 100-300-word synopsis of your manuscript.

Track 03

For Graphic Novels

We are looking for new stories and unique concepts that explore the Filipino imagination.

  • Submissions may be in the form of a logline, one-page synopsis, concept art, sample pages, partially finished, or finished works.

Adarna House welcomes partnerships with international publishers and distributors interested in bringing Filipino stories to a global audience. Our catalog features award-winning children's books, educational materials, and culturally-rooted content that resonates across borders.

Translation Rights

Translation Rights. Publish our titles in other languages within a specific region.

Adaptation Rights

Re-imagine our beloved stories in film, animation, theater, and other media.

Using Our IP

We are open to the use of our books for the purposes of live storytelling or online content, provided that the guidelines below are followed:

What's allowed

  • The book’s writers, illustrators, and Adarna House (as publisher) must be credited by name in the video or caption as part of the performance or content. You should mention that Adarna House is on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok and has books available at www.adarna.com.ph.
  • Uploaded videos that feature at most the cover and up to two (2) spreads of a physical copy of our books (such as reviews or book features).
  • Uploaded videos that feature the cover and inside pages of a physical copy of our books if they are presented by a human storyteller (i.e., a person appearing on-screen or narrating) and the spread of the book takes up no more than half of the video's visual frame (such as a recording of live storytelling).

What's not allowed

  • Uploaded videos that use scanned or photographed images of our book’s cover or inside pages without express written permission from us.
  • Live-streamed read-throughs of our books to remain publicly available beyond twenty-four (24) hours after the live stream ends without express written permission from us. Any deviation from the guidelines will be considered copyright infringement.
